Árpád: High Prince of the Magyars

Árpád was a pivotal figure in the early history of the Magyars, leading the Hungarian tribes into the Carpathian Basin during the late 9th century – after being forced out of Etelköz, the Magyar settlements in modern-day Ukraine, due to a Pecheneg Turkic invasion. He is credited with the foundation of the Hungarian state, establishing a dynasty that would rule until the early 14th century. Árpád’s leadership marked the beginning of the Magyar's settlement in Central Europe, transitioning from a nomadic lifestyle to a more settled existence. This period under Árpád and his successors saw the emergence of the Hungarian regnum, the adoption of Christianity, and the establishment of Hungary as a significant medieval kingdom
